Qld: Tender to explore sites for carbon capture plant
Queensland's on track to become a world leader in clean coal technology .. with the
state government calling for tenders to explore potential sites.
Minister for Mines and Energy STEPHEN ROBERTSON is calling on companies to apply to
explore 13 areas in central and southwest Queensland .. to decide if they're suitable
for underground storage of carbon dioxide gases from coal-fired power stations.
Queensland hopes to build one of the world's first commercial-scale carbon capture
storage facilities.
