NSW: Wealth of information in new HSC website minister

SYDNEY, April 2 AAP - New South Wales students from Broken Hill to Balmain would be
able to access more HSC study material than ever before by logging onto the revamped HSC
website, education minister John Aquilina said today.

The HSC Online website - http://hsc.csu.edu.au - had been boosted over the last two
years to accommodate the new HSC curriculum, Mr Aquilina said.

Launching the website today, Mr Aquilina said students would have the opportunity to
study the most comprehensive range of resources available.

"It has an unprecedented range of study material, sample exam questions, language exercises
and higher education advice," Mr Aquilina said.

After consulting students, a team of 200 teachers added sound and video files, self-check
quizzes and virtual field visits on the site.

Currently, the site has support materials for 23 subjects with a further 15 subjects,
including four VET subjects, coming online soon, he said.

The website is a joint project between the state education and training department
and Charles Sturt university in Bathurst.

Vice-chancellor of Charles Sturt University Professor Cliff Blake said the university
website had proved to be more popular last year than Triple J Radio website.
