THE PALO ALTO Planning and Transportation Commission has voted. 6-1, to approve a zoning change of for proposed mixed-use "downtown gateway" project. The change--to a "planned community" zoning designation--paves the way for the 64-foot project that would otherwise be to tall for its location. The project would fulfill a couple different goals for the city, including increasing density around transit hubs, which in this case is a Caltrain station in the heart of Palo Alto.
