Vic: Firefighter injured in power station blaze
MELBOURNE, Jan 2 AAP - A firefighter has been injured in a blaze that engulfed part
of a power station in the La Trobe Valley, south-east of Melbourne this morning.
The firefighter, whose neck was burned by a fire flashback, was treated on site at
the Hazelwood power plant and didn't require hospital treatment.
The fire broke out at about 7.50am but had now been contained, a country fire authority
spokesman said.
But it would be at least four hours before the site was declared safe and it still
posed a significant threat.
